Sterex ACP
Electrolysis Removal

Skin tag removals is carried out with Sterex ACP (Advanced Cosmetic Procedure) Electrolysis, which uses short wave diathermy or a blend of AC and DC current to quickly and efficiently remove skin tag removals, milia and other skin lesions.

Benefits of our
removal approach

ACP is suitable for all skin types and effectively treats a variety of skin conditions. Working alongside Dr. Wade and consultant dermatologists at the London Skin and Hair Clinic, we can seamlessly arrange a referral for dermatological clearance if needed. This will be fully discussed during your complimentary skin analysis.

What skin conditions can we treat at LRS?

We specialise in treating a wide range of skin conditions with expert care and precision. Whether it’s cosmetic concerns or persistent skin growths, our experienced practitioners provide safe and effective treatments tailored to your needs. Here’s an overview of the skin conditions we can treat.

Spider naevi are small clusters of red blood vessels that appear close to the skin’s surface, often resembling a spider’s web. At London Real Skin, we use advanced techniques like Sterex ACP to target and treat these vascular blemishes, helping to restore an even skin tone.

Thread veins, also known as broken capillaries, are thin, visible veins that can appear on the face and body. Our treatments are designed to reduce their appearance safely and effectively.

Milia are small, white, keratin-filled cysts that commonly develop around the eyes, cheeks, and forehead. Using precise techniques, we gently remove milia, restoring smooth and healthy skin.

Warts and verrucas are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and can be unsightly and uncomfortable. Our expert team offers effective removal solutions tailored to your needs, providing relief and clearer skin.

Skin tags are small, soft, benign growths of skin that commonly develop on areas where the skin folds, such as the neck, armpits, or eyelids. We use Sterex ACP technology to quickly and effectively remove skin tags with minimal discomfort and downtime.

Xanthelasma are yellowish cholesterol deposits that typically appear on the eyelids. At London Real Skin, we offer advanced treatments to safely minimise their appearance.

Telangiectasia refers to small, widened blood vessels visible on the skin’s surface. Our targeted treatments reduce their appearance, providing a smoother, more even complexion.

Blood spots, or cherry angiomas, are small, red, benign lesions caused by dilated blood vessels. Using precise techniques, we remove these spots, leaving your skin clearer and blemish-free.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Skin Lesion Removal FAQ’s

During your consultation, our experienced Aesthetic Practitioner will assess your suitability for treatment. The practitioner will advise on the number of treatments required and the duration between sessions.
A test patch is not always necessary prior to treatment. If a topical anaesthetic is required, you will be asked to attend 45 minutes before your appointment for it to be applied.
During the treatment, the tip of a fine probe (about the size of an eyelash) is used to discharge a tiny electrical current. This destroys the lesion or blemish, which often disappears during the procedure.
For some skin conditions, only one treatment is necessary. However, further treatments may be required depending on the severity of the skin concern.

We recommend the following aftercare:
– Gently cleanse the area and pat it dry with a clean towel or tissue unless instructed to keep dressings on.
– Avoid sunbathing or any other heat treatments, including sunbeds, saunas, and steam rooms.
– Avoid hot baths or showers.
– Refrain from swimming until the treated area has fully healed.
– Do not use makeup on the treated area during the healing process.
– Avoid applying soap or perfumed products to the treated area.
– Avoid wearing tight or restrictive clothing over treated body areas.
– Refrain from touching the treated area and do not pick at any scabs that may form.
– Avoid using glycolic acid or retinoid products for at least one week post-treatment.

Sterex ACP is not recommended for individuals with the following conditions:
– Patients with a fitted heart pacemaker.
– Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals.
– Those suffering from low blood pressure, asthma, or respiratory disorders.
– Individuals with diabetes, autoimmune conditions, or an active herpes simplex virus.

Potential side effects are generally mild and temporary but may include:
– Redness of the skin.
– Localised histamine reaction (swelling of the surrounding tissue).
– Inflammation of the skin.
– Scabbing.

A consultation is an essential step to determine if the treatment is suitable for your specific skin concern. At London Real Skin, we include a complimentary consultation as part of your personalised treatment journey, ensuring you receive expert advice and a tailored approach to achieve the best results.

Yes, multiple skin tags can often be treated in a single session, depending on the size and number of lesions. Your practitioner will discuss this with you during your consultation to create a tailored treatment plan.

Downtime is minimal following skin tag removal. Most clients can return to their normal activities immediately, although some temporary redness or slight scabbing may occur as the area heals.

Sterex ACP is designed to minimise scarring by targeting the lesion with precision. While most treatments leave little to no visible marks, this can vary depending on the size and type of lesion. Your practitioner will discuss this with you during your consultation and provide aftercare advice to promote optimal healing.
