Before the treatment takes place, a topical anaesthesia will be applied, around 45 minutes beforehand. After the numbing cream has taken effect, the laser will be passed over the treatment areas of your skin. You will feel a warming sensation, however, most patients find that the treatment is entirely tolerable. A cooling device will also be used, to help ensure that you are comfortable and any potential post-treatment swelling is minimised.
