Stretch marks and cellulite who is at risk?

Cellulite affects around 80-90% of females and up to 20% of males worldwide. Cellulite refers to the lumpy, dimpled flesh found on the surface of the skin and particularly around areas such as the thighs, hips, buttocks and abdomen.

80% of adult men and women are affected by Stretch Marks, particularly due to rapid growth, hormonal changes and, pregnancy for women. Stretch marks are the lines that appear on the surface of the skin that appear typically as purple or red scratches or lines to start with, and then later begin to fade to a silvery whitish colour.

The reason for that is, that the red lines are the blood vessels beneath the dermis showing through. These lines or marks eventually fade to a white or silvery colour once the blood vessels have contracted.

What our patients say

This is one of the best clinics I’ve been to. I travel all the way from Swindon and it’s worth it. The staff are also very friendly. I’m currently getting a cellulite and stretch mark treatment and I’ve been able to see results.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you treat cellulite and stretch marks?

For some, the stretch marks feel prominent and noticeable and are causing distress. We would recommend that these patients explore the Biodermogenesi treatment option. This revolutionary treatment was pioneered in the UK right here at London Real Skin, and is scientifically proven to significantly improve the appearance of both stretch marks and cellulite, producing a lifting effect and far smoother and tighter skin.

You may have heard of Biodermogenesi treatments as they were first profiled on This Morning’ daytime TV programme last Summer. They’ve grown in popularity after Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield publicly shared their positive results. And after people have seen Sophie Piper’s toned figure on Love Island, it is no surprise more patients are interested in learning how to treat unwanted cellulite and stretch marks.

How does Biodermogenesi work?

The biodermogenesi treatment includes a vacuum handset that creates electromagnetic fields. The vacuum suction gently warms the affected skin areas and reduces stretch marks on the abdomen, buttocks, breasts and arms. During a typical thirty-minute procedure. The skin’s membrane and collagen structure are significantly strengthened, and cells are regenerated. As aptly stated in our feature on Mother and Baby, “Biodermogenesi® is a non-invasive method for skin regeneration which enables the self-renewal of the tissues without damaging them”.

What are the benefits?

This simple fusion treatment has the following benefits:

  • promotes increased blood flow and oxygen circulation around the treated areas
  • stimulates skin regeneration, post-surgical scars and burns and cellulite
  • sodium and potassium properties nourish and hydrate skin cells and membranes
  • detoxifying dead skin cells
  • skin is much smoother and will tan more easily post treatment
  • Stretch marks fill with an average of 83.6%
  • Effective on all skin types and effective on any type of stretch marks including abdomen, buttocks, breasts and arms
