Am I Suitable for Exion Treatment?
Exion is suitable if you want to improve early to moderate skin laxity, fine lines, enlarged pores, crepey skin or uneven texture without surgery. The treatment works across different skin types and can be adapted for the face, neck, décolletage, or selected areas of the body.
You will need to postpone or avoid treatment during pregnancy, if you have an active infection, an open wound, or a recent sunburn in the treatment area, or if certain implanted electronic devices or medical conditions make radiofrequency treatment unsuitable. We will review your skin, medical history, medication and previous procedures before recommending treatment.
How Does Exion Skin Tightening Work?
Exion delivers controlled energy into selected layers of the skin, stimulating fibroblast activity and the production of new collagen and elastin. We can use its two complementary technologies separately or combine them according to your skin concern and treatment area.
Exion RF Microneedling
Exion RF microneedling uses fine, gold-plated needles to deliver controlled radiofrequency energy into the dermis. We adjust the needle depth, heat and pulse duration for the skin and treatment area, stimulating collagen remodelling while limiting unnecessary disruption to the surface. Preparing for Exion Treatment
You may be advised to pause retinoids, exfoliating acids and other potentially irritating skincare for three to five days before treatment. Keep recent sun exposure to a minimum, use a high-factor SPF, and arrive with clean skin and no heavy makeup. We will provide any additional instructions based on your skin and the Exion technology selected.
Your Exion Treatment Procedure
We cleanse the treatment area before applying the selected Exion handpiece. Topical anaesthetic can be used before RF microneedling, while needle-free Exion creates a controlled warming sensation as the handpiece moves across the skin. Treatment generally takes between 20 and 60 minutes, depending on the technology and size of the area.
Recovery and Aftercare Following Exion Treatment
Your skin may look pink and feel warm, tight, or mildly tender after treatment, particularly after RF microneedling. Use gentle moisturising products and high-factor SPF while the area settles, pause strong active skincare for three to five days and avoid excessive heat, direct sun exposure and sunbeds for 48 to 72 hours or as advised.

How many Exion treatments will I need?
A typical Exion treatment plan includes three to four sessions spaced approximately three to four weeks apart. Your recommended course will depend on the area, the condition of your skin and whether RF microneedling, needle-free treatment or both technologies are used.
When will I see my Exion results?
Early improvements in texture can become noticeable within several weeks, while firmness and definition develop more progressively over six to twelve weeks. Collagen remodelling can continue for three to six months after treatment.
How long do Exion results last?
Exion results are long-lasting, although treatment cannot stop the natural ageing process. Many patients arrange a maintenance session every six to twelve months to support the improvement achieved during their initial course.
Does Exion treatment hurt?
